We specialize in professional 2k (2048×1556) film scanning of 16mm, S16mm and 35mm film to DPX files. We can also author the content to DVD or BluRay, or provide more manageable editing formats like HD-AVI or Apple ProRes HQ for editing today as opposed to the DPX files which are not easily edited on todays PCs or Macs.
In addition, our automatic scan time dust busting will remove 95% of scratches, dust and dirt. All this for about 1/2 to 1/3 the rate charged in a typical Hollywood movie studio.

16mm film has around 1500 to 2000 horizontal lines of resolution. In order to archive the film a 2k (2048 vertical ×1556 horizontal) or 4K (4096 vertical by 2160 horizontal) scan is required. 2K or 4K DPX files will ensure that you future proof your investment by being able write to not only DVD or BluRay now but to what ever comes after BluRay. DPX can be edited by professional editors like Adobe Premiere Pro which can be installed on a PC or Mac. In general, a quad core processor and a minimum of 8GB of RAM is required.
Older 35mm film can have up to 4000 lines of horizontal resolution. In order to get a reasonable quality DVD or BluRay a 2k scan is required. In order to get the highest quality DVD or BluRay a 4k scan is recommended.
