We specialize in professional Super 35mm and 35mm 4k scans at a fraction of the cost compared to a typical Hollywood movie studio. Our new ProHD film scanning service scans the film at 2K (2048×1556) and down converts it to provide the best quality HD video possible. Our 4k scanning process gives you the 4K DPX files to future proof your investment. In addition, our automatic scan time dust busting will remove 95% of scratches, dust and dirt during the scan avoiding an expensive down stream dust busting step in many cases. All this for about 1/2 to 1/3 the rate charged in a typical Hollywood movie studio.

35mm 4k scan
35mm film was and still is a great film format. It is still used by many film makers in Hollywood. 35mm film has between 3000 and 4000 lines of resolution. That's a good thing. There is a tone of information on 35mm film. About 200-300% more than HD video today!
To get all that information, a 35mm 4K (4096x2160) scan is required. Although an 2k scan will produce acceptable results, a 35mm 4K scan is required to truly archive the 35mm film.
For doing any DVD or BluRay work, a 35mm 2k scan is acceptable. A 2K (2048×1556) scan will get enough details to make a high quality DVD or BluRay.
A 35mm 4K scan will future proof your investment in the transfer. You'll not only be able to create great looking DVDs or BluRays, you'll be able to create what ever comes after BluRay. There's nothing more irritating than spending a lot of money on your 35mm 4k scan to learn that you are locked into the current format of the day.
In addition, if you are looking for a little Hollywood technology to clean up your film (scratches, dust, dirt, etc.) , we have that also at a fraction of the cost. Our dust busting technology cleans up 95% of the defects on the film.
